PEP TALK: Gandhian activist S.N. Subba Rao delivering the keynote address at a workshop held at Gandhigram Rural Institute near Dindigul on Wednesday.
DINDIGUL: Generating employment opportunities in villages and providing jobs to every individual alone would solve many persistent problems such as Naxalism, said Gandhian activist S.N. Subba Rao. Delivering the keynote address at a workshop on `Towards a new constructive programme,' at Gandhigram Rural Institute near here on Wednesday, he said that allocation of excess money for buying weapons would not be a solution. Sending armed forces to contain such naxal activities would only intense violence. Production by masses and not mass production should be encouraged to generate more employment. Religious integration and communal harmony were need of the hour, Mr. Subba Rao said, adding that the youth strive hard to create a new world of justice with no barriers. They should also be motivated to eliminate barriers between people in different places in the name of language, religions, colour and class. In his special address, the GRI Professor, S. Narayanaswamy, said Gandhi's constructive programmes were mother of all constructive programmes. His concept should be followed in formulating any new constructive programme, he said.
