THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government has decided to roll out Akshaya project to six more districts, thereby covering the entire State, an official press release said here on Wednesday. The decision was taken at a meeting convened by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here. The six districts are Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad. First launched in Malappuram district, Akshaya was later rolled out to Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Computer literacy programme under this project is going on in these seven districts. Minister for Local Administration Kutty Ahamed Kutty, Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Board C.V. Padmarajan, IT secretary P.H. Kurien, and others attended the meeting, the press release said.
