CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has formulated a project for construction of individual toilets, sanitary complexes for women and anganwadi toilets for those living below the poverty line under the Total Sanitation Campaign at a cost of Rs.239.42 crores and has forwarded it to the Central Government for approval. An official spokesman said here on Wednesday that the Haryana Development and Panchayats Department was making efforts to provide individual latrines in all villages. Sanitary complexes for women would be constructed in those villages which had passed resolutions to provide 250 to 300 square yards of land free of cost along with 20 per cent of the unit cost and ensure its maintenance in the future. He added that under this project, 90,940 units of individual household latrines, 12,967 sanitary complexes for women and 9,380 anganwadi toilets would be constructed.
