CHENNAI: P.M. Sayeed Union Power Minister who died on Sunday at Seoul,had a special liking for Tamil Nadu, though hailing from Lakshadweep. Any interaction with him revealed his keenness to know developments in the State, particularly in the power sector.

He had hired a media consultant who kept on providing information to journalists through electronic mail on the Central Government's various initiatives and decisions. As Mr. Sayeed had working knowledge of Tamil, he used to speak in Tamil to scribes, particularly when he wanted to press his point.
