Two DCPs transferred

The action comes in the wake of the stampede

CHENNAI: The Government has announced the transfer of S.N. Seshasai, Deputy Commissioner of Police, T.Nagar. C. Sridhar, SP, Crime Branch - II CID, Chennai, has replaced him. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Flower Bazaar, G.Karthigeyan, is also transferred. He is replaced by K.P. Shanmuga Rajeswaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (North).

The transfers come in the wake of the stampede at MGR Nagar in T.Nagar police district on Sunday.

With the transfer of Mr. Shanmuga Rajeswaran, two posts of Deputy Commissioners in the traffic wing of the city police are lying vacant. Avi Prakash Sinha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (Central), had been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Krishnagiri.

The Chennai Collector, S. Chandramohan was transferred and N. Muruganandam replaced him after the stampede.
