Commodity rates

The following were the rates (Rs. per kg) of essential commodities in local wholesale market on Wednesday, according to the Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Groundnut oil-48.50, Palmolein oil - 39, Sunflower oil-49, Tamarind (flower variety) 21 to 28, Chillies (refrigerated)-25 to 30, Chillies (non-refrigirated)-10 to 15, Rice (2716)-13, Rice (superfine)-15, Rice (sona masoori)-16 to 17, Rice (samba masoori)-15 to 17, Black gram-32.75, Red gram-21.25 to 28.50.

Payment of electricity bills

The electricity bills have to be paid by the consumers within 15 days of the receipt the bill or with penalty if they fail to pay it within 15 days. The power supply, however, will not be disconnected for one month after serving the bill. Superintending engineer of the SPDCL appealed to the people to cooperate.

Training programme

Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Technical Advisory Corporation will conduct a 10-day entrepreneurship development programme in the city in the first week of January.
