Five-year plan for development of Urdu language sought

HYDERABAD:
Member of the Official Language Commission Jeelani Pairak advised the district Collector to formulate a five-year plan of action for the development of Urdu in the city.
Mr. Jeelani Pairak suggested that an exclusive section be set up in each department to monitor the implementation of Urdu. Reviewing the use of Urdu in the various wings of the Hyderabad Collectorate, he said that Urdu translators be appointed to impart training and that Urdu computers be set up in offices to enable departments to receive applications in Urdu.
Collector Arvind Kumar said that an Urdu cell has been established to provide counselling and guidance to Urdu-speaking people in the Collectorate.
