DECKED UP: The Milma plant in Kozhikode.
Keeping a mammoth crowd waiting for the inauguration of a function in good humour is no easy task. But the Malabar Regional Milk Marketing Federation managed to pull it off. It kept the 1,000-odd persons, who had gathered for the Silver Jubilee of the Kerala State Milk Marketing Federation (Milma), entertained. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was scheduled to inaugurate the event at 11.30 a.m. Even at 12 p.m., there was no sign of Mr. Chandy or Dairy Development Minister K.R. Gouri who was also to address the gathering. The announcers held the attention of the audience for over an hour with old songs till the dignitaries arrived.
