GUNTUR: The three-day inter-collegiate sports and culture festival, `Vignan Sravanti' began at Vignan Degree College at Palakalur here on Wednesday amidst merriment and jubilation. Inaugurating the event, District Collector G.Jayalakshmi said that these kinds of festivals give the much-needed break from the rigorous academic schedules. She exhorted the youth to be inspired from the life of Dronalvalli Harika, a well-known chess player, who was also present at the function. Vijayawada Guntur Tenali and Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority chairman V. Durgadas said intelligent and well educated people always emerged winners in competitive world. Vignan Group chairman Lavu Rathaiah said that college was producing outstanding students And many of them were selected during campus selections.
