GUNTUR: The Sun Television network is resorting to unethical means of business by resorting to acts aimed at destroying the cable TV operators' unity, said Guntur district Multi System Operators Association president, D.Krishnamohan. Speaking at a meeting here on Wednesday, he said that there was need for a united fight against Sun network's policies, which are against the interests of the cable operators. The association resolved to intensify their struggle in the district and to extend support to the agitating operators at Hyderabad. "Now, more than 85 per cent of the operators in the district have stopped transmission of channels relating to the Sun network. The remaining will follow suit in a day or two," Mr. Krishnamohan said.
Association's appeal
The meeting was attended by the village-level cable operators, who vowed to agitate against Sun TV. Meanwhile, the Cable TV Users Welfare Association has appealed to the operators to resolve their issues amicably and ensure that viewers are not subject to inconvenience. It criticised the frequent change of channels by the operators when the viewers were paying their subscription charges regularly. Association president Konda Sivarami Reddy said due to the competition, the subscription charges were expected to come down.
