SELCO Solar figures in 2005 Tech Museum Aards

BANGALORE: SELCO Solar Light Pvt. Ltd., has won a $50,000 prize sponsored by Accenture and has been named a 2005 Tech Museum Awards `Laureate' for providing reliable, affordable and environmentally sustainable electricity to underserved households and businesses in India and rest of the developing world. SELCO has made it possible for poor rural households to acquire reliable electric supply for basic needs through an innovative partnership with local financial institutions, and linking the acquisition of solar home lighting systems to additional income earning opportunities, says release.
