Assam, Manipur claim top honours

Assam won the boys' foil team title in the National cadets fencing championship at the V.K. Krishna Menon Indoor Stadium here on Thursday. Manipur took the girls' epee team title.
The results: Boys: foil (final): Assam bt Manipur 15-13.
Semifinals: Assam bt Karnataka 15-12; Manipur bt Tamil Nadu 15-11.
Quarterfinals: Assam bt Haryana 15-10; Manipur bt Maharashtra 18-15; Karnataka bt Bihar 15-9; Tamil Nadu bt Meghalaya 15-1.
Girls: epee (final): Manipur bt Punjab 15-9.
Semifinals: Manipur bt Bengal 15-3; Punjab bt Tamil Nadu 15-7.
