AHMEDABAD: The G.T. Nanavati and K.G. Shah judicial inquiry commission probing the Godhra train carnage and the post-Godhra communal riots in Gujarat in 2002, has directed the Central Government to file an affidavit by January 2 clarifying its stand on submitting a copy of the former President, K.R. Narayanan's letter to the then Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, on the riots. The directive was issued by the commission on Thursday on a fresh application filed by the advocate for the riot victims, Mukul Sinha, following the letter from the Presidential secretariat informing the commission that all correspondence regarding the production of the former President's letter be directed to the Central Government.
