HUBLI: The Karnataka State High School Assistant Teachers Association will take out a Vidhana Soudha Chalo on December 26 to press for its various demands, including 20 per cent interim relief for the teachers. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, K.C. Puttasidda Shetty, general secretary of the association and former MLC, urged the Government to revoke the order of stopping annual increment to teachers of those schools where the subject-wise result falls below 40 per cent. He said the Government should increase the salaries of assistant teachers based on the recommendations of the Justice Venkataswamy Pay Commission. He demanded that the basic minimum pay be fixed for the employees of private unaided educational institutions. The services of computer and part-time teachers should be regularised and the fifth pay commission should be set up, he urged.
