Air show in Pondy

Pondicherry: The Pondicherry Tourism department, in collaboration with Indian Air Force, is organising a skydiving, parasailing and water skiing show by the `Air Devils' wing of the IAF at Lawspet and at Chunnambar on December 24 and 25.

The events will be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor M.M. Lakhera, in the presence of Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and chairman of the Pondicherry Tourism Development Corporation N. Gangadaran.

A communication from the department said it would be a stunning spectacle of skydiving, parasailing, hot air ballooning and water skiing by the `Air Devils'.

Skydivers would jump out of an Air Force helicopter from 8,000 feet and come down at a speed of 200 ft per second. Two such jumps were planned at the helipad area.
