CHENNAI:
The State Government has announced that three additional litres of kerosene would be supplied to ration cardholders in all flood-affected areas in the State.
In a release, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said the affected families could collect the additional kerosene for December 2005 and January 2006. This would be over and above their normal entitlement. The move would help the flood-affected families meet their domestic requirements.
Ms. Jayalalithaa said the Centre had released 20,000 kilo litres of kerosene to Tamil Nadu in two instalments, pursuant to her demand for the allocation of 43,200 kilo litres.
