Congress legislator offers 'help' to CBI

Special Correspondent

"Have authentic documents of evidence of the misdeeds of the Chautala clan and officers"

  • Karan Singh Dalal, had single-handedly criticised the Chautala regime during its six - year tenure in the State
  • Played a key role in formulation of the Congress Party's `'chargesheet' against the Chautalas

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Congress MLA, Karan Singh Dalal, who single-handedly criticized the Om Parkash Chautala regime during its six - year tenure in the State and played a key role in the formulation of the Congress party's `'charge-sheet' against the Chautala clan, said that his stand had been vindicated as the CBI had taken "cognisance'' of the "charge-sheet'' in its probe against the former Chief Minister.

He further said that the CBI had taken away his copy of the "charge-sheet'' during a raid at his residence on April 7 this year in connection with the JBT Teachers Recruitment scam against the Chautala clan. He was happy that this "charge-sheet'' had become the base for the current CBI probe against the former Chief Minister.

Mr.Dalal offered assistance to the premier agency as he had even more "authentic documents of evidence of the misdeeds of the Chautala clan and the officers which were not available at the time of the raid and could not form part of the memorandum of charge-sheet.'' He said that he would provide these documents, relating to land scams, purchases and auctions, to the CBI when they asked for these. "I hope that the CBI will conduct the probe expeditiously and expose the nexus between unscrupulous politicians, bureaucrats and criminals,'' he said while thanking the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, for handing over the probe to the CBI.

The Congress MLA also demanded that the passports of the Chautala clan and some former and present bureaucrats should be seized immediately.
