Fatality on GST Road
Staff Reporter
BOVINE HINDRANCE: Stray cattle on GST Road near Pallavaram pose serious problems to motorists.
TAMBARAM:
A 63-year-old man died after the mini tempo in which he was travelling overturned when the van swerved to the left to avoid hitting a herd of cattle on the Grand Southern Trunk Road at Chromepet on Wednesday night.
He was seriously injured and rushed to the Chromepet Government hospital where he died.
Mr. Saminathan of Perungulathur, was returning home in the vehicle when the incident took place.
The menace of cattle roaming freely on the roads is not restricted to the GST Road alone as such scenes are common on other arterial roads as well. Poor illumination on many of these roads also adds to the problem.
