It's no mean feat
CREATING A DANCE drama around an epic poem written by one of the greatest philosophers and writers of this country is no mean feat.
The Indo-Canadian dance troupe of Renu Ray did just that by bringing alive Sri Aurobindo's epic Savitri.
Aurobindo began working on Savitri in the early 1900s when he was college teacher in Baroda and the last revision was completed shortly before his samadhi in December 1950.
The story of Savitri, based on the fable in the Mahabharata, is considered full of meanings about the evolution of mankind to a supra-mental stage.
