Two die in road accidents

A businessman Venkata Krishna, 25, died on the spot after a sand-laden lorry hit the two-wheeler he was riding from behind on Shivaji Bridge near Darulshifa on Thursday, the Afzalgunj police said. Babu Miya (21), who was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle while riding a motorcycle two days ago, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night at the OGH. A resident of Nehrunagar, he was going to Mehdipatnam when a vehicle hit his bike near SD Eye hospital.

Commits suicide

A private firm employee Raghava Raju (31), committed suicide in the house of his uncle Suresh, who had died 10 days ago, at Chawni in Madannapet on Wednesday. A resident of Kukatpally, Raju came to his uncle's house to attend a religious ritual. When other family members went out, he hanged himself with a cloth, the Madannapet police said. Reasons behind the suicide were not yet known.

Succumbs to injuries

A scooterist, Ratan Kumar (40) was killed after hitting a cyclist at Jeedimetla on Wednesday night. While returning home to Jeedimetla from Shapurnagar, he hit a cyclist Pullaiah (50). Both sustained injuries. They were shifted to OGH where Kumar succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning, while Pullaiah was battling for life.

Held on theft charge

The Sanathnagar police on Thursday arrested one N. Srinivas Reddy, who worked as assistant director for some Telugu films, on charge of involvement in thefts and recovered three stolen computers from him. Hailing from Kodad in Nalgonda district, Reddy lives at Yousufguda. He was earlier arrested on similar charges. Police caught him red-handed while transporting a stolen computer in an autorickshaw. He confessed to liftign the computer from a house in Snehapuri Colony.
