Move to pay salary through SBT decried

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The pro-AITUC All Kerala Water Authority Employees Union has protested against the Authority's move to make the entire salary payment through the State Bank of Travancore.

General secretary of the Union M.M.George in a statement here on Thursday described the move as hasty and said that it would create unnecessary difficulties for the employees.

In places where there were branches or ATM counters, they would have to queue up before them.

In the other places they would have to go in search of branches or ATM counters.

The SBT employees were already on an agitation against the increase in their workload.

He asked the top officials of the Water Authority and the SBT to refrain from creating difficulties for the employees of both the institutions in order to protect their interests.
