Six held on charge of plotting to kill rivals

BANGALORE: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police on Thursday arrested six persons who were allegedly planning to murder two rival gang members inside the sessions court premises here. However, three others, including the gang leader, Lingaraj managed to escape.

The arrested persons were Shiva Kumar (31), Rajashekhar (34), Prabhakar (28), Raghavendra (28), Prasanna (29) and Harish Kumar (27). The accused were reportedly planning to murder Praveen alias Malayali Praveen and Rajani, both members of a rival gang led by Ravi. The gang had learnt that the two would come to the court for a hearing on Thursday afternoon.

Burgled

Burglars struck at a software engineer's house in Hennur police station limits on Wednesday and made away with Rs. 30,000 in cash and gold ornaments, silver articles and electronic goods, together worth Rs. 2.15 lakhs. The police said that using fake keys the thieves entered Amit Tyagi's house on Hennur Main Road, off Grace Garden Apartments. The theft took place between 6 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. when Tyagi and his family had been to a restaurant on Kammanahalli Main Road, the police said.
