ERODE: The State Government has granted Rs 17 crores for repairing roads damaged during heavy rain in September, October and November, said District Collector, D. Karthikeyan on Wednesday. The District Collector said the administration had sought Rs 19 crores from the government. Besides a grant of Rs 31 crores more for tackling flood damage. The Government had granted Rs 17 crores for road repairs.
Work under way
Work would be completed before February next. In Erode Municipal area 32 road works would be undertaken at a cost of Rs 3 crores, 20 works would be undertaken at a cost of Rs 5.50 crores in Gobichettipalayam, 16 works at a cost of Rs 2.07 crores in Dharapuram, 18 works costing Rs 1 crore in Sathyamangalam and 8 costing Rs 37 lakhs in Bhavani Municipal area. The Ring Road scheme is under the active consideration of the Government and would be implemented at a cost of Rs 70 crores.
