Rupee posts further gains

MUMBAI: The rupee on Friday ended with further gains against the U.S. dollar on the interbank foreign exchange market on sustained inflows by foreign institutional investors along with weak dollar in the world market.

The Indian unit started firm at 45.06/08 a dollar against Thursday's close of 45.19/20, but later lost some of the early gains on fresh dollar demand and closed at 45.15/16, showing a modest gain over the previous close. — PTI
