Sensex dips 115 points
MUMBAI:
In highly volatile trading, the Sensex on Friday plunged by 115 points after scaling a new high during early trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange on fresh bouts of heavy profit taking by operators and domestic funds coupled with selling by foreign institutional investors.
The BSE benchmark 30-share index (Sensex) started on a firm note at 9417.29 against yesterday's close of 9372.30 and zoomed to a new historic intra-day high of 9442.98 within the first ten minutes of trading. Thereafter, it plunged and after touching a low of 9237.94, ended at 9256.91 revealing a loss of 115.39 points. PTI
