Commodity prices

The following were the rates (per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Tuesday, according to the Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Groundnut oil-48.50, palmolein oil-39, sunflower oil-49, tamarind (flower variety)-21 to 28, tamarind (karipuli variety)-42 to 48, chillies (new)-10 to 15, rice (2716)-13, rice (super fine)-15, rice (sona masoori)-16 to 17, rice (samba masoori)-15 to 17, black gram-32.75 and red gram-21.25 to 28.50.

P.V. death anniversary observed

The City Congress Committee observed the death anniversary of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao at Andhra Ratna Bhavan.

City Congress president Pyla Somi Naidu, BC wing co-chairman Ilapuram Venkaiah and others participated in the meeting.
