MANGALORE: The new Board of Directors of Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Ltd. (CAMPCO) was formally constituted on Saturday, with S.R. Rangamurthy as president. Srikrishna Bhat was elected vice-president. The term of the new board is five years. Mr. Rangamurthy replaces L.N. Kudoor as president. Saturday's elections were only a formality, as 16 directors on the 17-member board were elected unopposed. The managing director of the cooperative is an ex-officio director. Ashok G. Bhat, Headquarters Assistant to Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner, who was the Returning Officer, declared the 16 candidates elected unopposed. Besides Mr. Rangamurthy, the other directors from Karnataka are Mr. Kudoor, D.B. Balakrishna, Sanjeeva Matandoor, Seetharama Bhat, Mahabala Bhat K.M., Kishore Kodgi and Thimmappa Rai. The directors from Kerala are Karunakara Nambiar, Shri Hari Bhat, Srikrishna Bhat, Ashok Holla, K.A. Shetty, K.M.N. Kartha, Hariharan Unni and Rajgopal. Addressing presspersons after the elections, Mr. Rangamurthy said CAMPCO earned a profit of Rs. 8.1 crores till November in this financial year.
