Prepare for challenges, airmen told

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi on Saturday said the Indian Air Force would be kept in a high state of readiness as the air power would be expected to move first in the future wars. He exhorted the air warriors to be prepared to face the upcoming challenges.

The Chief of Air Staff made the observations during his two-day visit to the Air Force Station in Jodhpur in western Rajasthan. He praised the maintenance and operations at the Air Force Station, which had won the `Pride of South-West Air Command' trophy last year.

Air Chief Marshal Tyagi, who witnessed a polo match at the Maharaja Polo Ground before visiting the Air Force Station, said each individual associated with the IAF was important and could contribute towards achieving its mission. He said the Jodhpur station was one of the premier air bases of IAF.

Air Chief Marshal Tyagi visited various squadrons and service facilities at the Air Force Station before leaving for New Delhi by a special IAF aircraft.
