MYSORE: Jockey A. Qureshi, rider of Secret Moment, was fined Rs. 1,000 for not making sufficient effort to improve his position between 1,000m and 600m in the Vani Vilas Sagar Plate (Div. I) held here on December 21.

In the Mangalagangotri Plate, jockey A. Velu (Streak Of Fire) was fined Rs. 1,000 for excessive use of whip. In the same race, Chandrashekar (Three Coins) was fined Rs. 2,000 for failing to arrive to fulfil his riding engagement.

The stewards have suspended the jockey's licence granted to R. Parmod from December 1, 2005, till the conclusion of the Mysore winter races, and have also reported him to the stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club for further action, as they deem fit, for not permitting his mount Gypsie's Wish to run on its merits in the Shillong Plate on Dec. 14.

After considering the detailed report submitted by the Stipendiary Stewards pertaining to the presence of prohibited substances in the urine sample taken from the S. Narredu-trained One First, winner of the August Plate (1,200m) on Aug. 18, the Stewards have fined him Rs. 10,000 for infringement of Medication Rules.
