Prohibition raids stepped up in Krishnagiri

Krishnagiri: Krishnagiri district has registered the second highest sale in Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) in the State thanks to strict Prohibition Enforcement measures by the District Police. With the district having a porous border maximum number of cases was related only to interstate crimes, said the Superintendent of Police, Avi Prakash Sinha here on Saturday.

There were two kinds of liquor namely illicit distilled arrack from Kallupalli and IMFL, smuggled through lorries. Prohibition raids and vehicular checking would be intensified to stall circulation of arrack from neighbouring states. Motorcycle patrolling will be introduced in Krishnagiri and Hosur towns at peak hours.
