NEW DELHI: India posted two big wins in the men's section to share the lead with Vietnam after six rounds of the Asian team chess championship at Esfahan, in Iran, on Saturday. On a day when the women enjoyed a day of rest, the Indian men made their move to score identical 3.5-0.5 victories over lowly rated Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The results: Men: Sixth round: Aghanistan (2.5) lost to India (18) 0.5-3.5 (Azhaeerudden Asefi lost to K. Sasikiran; Habibullah Fadaeyee drew with Abhijit Kunte; Khaiber Farazi lost to Surya Shekhar Ganguly; Hamidullah Sarway lost to S. Kidambi); Iran `B' (8) lost to Iran `A' (16) 1-3; Vietnam (18) bt Turkmenistan (9.5) 4-0. Fifth round: Iran `B' lost to India 3.5-0.5 (Mehrdad Ardeshi lost to Sasikiran; Mohsen Sharbaf drew with Ganguly; Naser Ryahi lost to Kidambi; Homayoon Toufighi lost to Sandipan Chanda); Vietnam bt Iran `A' 2.5-1.5; Turkmenistan bt Afghanistan 3.5-0.5.
