ATA felicitates social worker

NALGONDA: The Development & Welfare Association of the Blind (DWAB) has thanked the American Telugu Association (ATA) for recognising the services of its general secretary P. Chokka Rao.

The DWAB, in a press release here on Sunday, said that the ATA felicitated Mr. Rao at a glittering function organised at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on Saturday evening with the lifetime achievement award for community service. While Gunugula Sudhakar Reddy, co-ordinator, ATA's international committee, honoured him with a traditional shawl, film actress Laya gave him the ATA memento.

<167,7p,1>"We feel it a privilege and a grand gesture of encouragement shown by the NRIs for visually challenged people. We assure you that we will continue to strive hard to help the visually challenged with your kind cooperation," the DWAB said.
