Gold jewels burgled from financier's house in Kottivakkam

TAMBARAM : Gold jewels weighing nearly 40 sovereigns were burgled from the house of a movie financier at Narasimha Perumal Nagar, Kottivakkam, on Saturday.

Police said Jayakumar, 30, had locked his home on Saturday morning and left for work. When the financier returned in the evening, he found the main door and the almirah broken open and the valuables burgled.

A 16-year-old youth died when he was knocked down by a lorry on Old Mamallapuram Road on Saturday.
