Khaleels Pride claims main event

Hyderabad: Mr. G. Prabhakar Reddy's Khaleels Pride (Suraj Narredu up) claimed the P. Veereshwar Rao Memorial Cup, the main event of the races held here on Monday. The winner is trained by L. D' Silva.

In the Loveable Princess Plate held on Dec. 26, jockey Chary (Muckhart) was fined Rs. 2,000 for shifting in at about 1,400m, causing a check to Gem Of A Guy (Suraj Narredu) and immediately shifting and forcing him out again.

In the races held on Dec. 25, in the Red Marble Plate (Div. II), the stewards suspended jockey Abhinay (Activa) from riding in races with effect from January 5 to 7 (2006), both days inclusive, for incompetent riding in that he allowed his mount to maintain an erratic course in the final stages of the race, thereby placing the filly at a disadvantage. Permitted to ride work.

In the Best Of Fun Plate (Div. I), the stewards suspended jockey Rutherford (Track Rule) from riding in races with effect from January 5 to 9 (2006), both days inclusive, for using the whip with excessive frequency. Permitted to ride work.

In the winter races conducted on Dec. 19, in the Rayalaseema Cup, the stewards, having considered the report of the stipendiary stewards into the improved performance of winner Dream Traveller (D. Singh) as compared to her previous start when ridden by jockey S.D. Pawar the filly ran off the board, resolved to suspend jockey Pawar from riding in races with effect from January 5 to 7 (2006), both days inclusive, for injudicious riding in the Ming Dynasty Plate (Div. I) run on Dec. 5. Permitted to ride work.
