Call to check burglaries

Thiruvananthapuram: The Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) leader T.M.Jacob has condemned the failure of the Home Department to check the spate of burglaries rocking the State capital.

In a pressnote here recently, he urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to relinquish the Home portfolio and hand it over to another Minister. Mr. Jacob said the citizens would be forced to take the law into their hands if the police failed to book the criminals.
