Young Challengers finishes fourth
KOCHI: Young Challengers CC (North Parur), which gained promotion to the A-division this season, finished a creditable fourth in the Ernakulam District cricket league.
Kochi Refineries Limited won the title earlier but the other positions were announced on Monday, with Swantons CC and Ernakulam CC `A' taking the runner-up and third spots, respectively, in the eight-team league.
Sharon CC (Ernakulam) and Rayro CC (Aroor), which took the last two spots, were relegated to B-division.
The final placings: 1. KRL, Ambalamugal (117 pts), 2. Swantons CC, Ernakulam (107), 3. Ernakulam CC `A' (102), 4. Young Challengers CC, North Parur (88), 5. Tripunithura CC `A' (84), 6. Scorpions CC, Tripunithura (53), 7. Sharon CC, Ernakulam (51), 8. Rayro CC, Aroor (-10 pts). — Principal Correspondent
