MANGALORE: The outstanding subsidy for small industries in the district will be cleared within 15 days, Commissioner of Industries Mohammad Sanaulla told industrialists in the district. Interacting with members of the Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) here on Saturday, Mr. Sanaulla stated that the subsidy issue has been cleared by the Government and it is only a matter of time before it reaches the industries. He has appealed to industrialists to send the list of facilities they wants in their respective industrial areas in consultation with officials of Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) and Karnataka State and Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC). The assurance of Mr. Sanaulla has kindled hopes of small industrialists in Dakshina Kannada. The subsidy outstanding in the State is to the tune of Rs. 146 crores since 1992, of which the Dakshina Kannada has to get of Rs. 15 crores since 1990. An amount of Rs. 7.5 crores has been distributed among sick industries and the rest has to be expedited, say industrialists. KSIA Secretary Nigam B. Vasani told The Hindu that Bykampady Industrial Area has been declared a forward area in industrial development and it was due to the industrial subsidy programme.
