Letters to the Editor
The expulsion of the 11 MPs allegedly caught accepting money for raising specific questions in Parliament is the right step. All those behind it, especially the media, should be lauded.
Varun Chhachhar,
* * * The expulsion is right but it does not meet the ends of justice. In the fitness of things, the people who elected these MPs should be allowed to decide the quantum of punishment in order to uphold high probity and ethics in the democratic set-up and in public life.
I. Gabriel,
* * * BJP chief L.K. Advani is not entirely wrong. MPs are human beings too. We should consider the motive for tempting them with attractive baits for the simple job of raising a question. Is it just for cleansing Parliament that these TV channels undertook the sting operation, spending Rs.26 lakh?
V. Ramamurthi,
