Letters to the Editor
This refers to the lathicharge in Patna on Monday by the police against temporary teachers who were going to meet officials of the Education Department to present their case for regularisation. Such an attitude shows how unmindful the Government is of the teachers' plight. Once a year, on Teachers' Day, speeches are made and grandiose schemes announced for the teaching community. Then they are forgotten until the next Teachers' Day. How then can one expect improvement in education?
