Warrant against Gavaskar dismissed

Ahmedabad: A local court on Tuesday dismissed the warrant issued against cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar in a case of non-submission of balance sheet of the Topline Shoes Company, in which he was one of the directors.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Hansaben Belani dismissed the warrant against Gavaskar.

According to advocate S. V. Raju, who appeared for Gavaskar, the Gujarat Registrar of Companies had filed a case against his client and other directors of the company for not filing the balance sheet for 1998-99. The next hearing has been fixed on January 21. — UNI
