HUBLI: The Congress seems to be ahead of other parties in the 22-member Dharwad Zilla Panchayat as the counting of votes continued till late in the night on Tuesday. Of the 12 results declared by 8.30 p.m., six seats went to the Congess while the Janata Dal (Secular) won three seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party won two seats while one seat went to an independent. Out of the 59 TP constituencies the results for which were declared, the Congress has registered win in 22 constituencies followed by BJP-14 , Janata Dal(S)- 12, Janata Party-5, Janatda Dal(U)-3 and Independents-3. The winners are: zilla panchayat: Kotur: Amrut Ayyappa Desai (Janata Dal-S); Tabakada Honnalli: Geeta Suresh Marlilingannavar (Janata Dal-S); Adaragunchi: Gadigeppa Virabhadrappa Kallimani (BJP); Byahatti: Subhash Kallappa Dyamakkanavar (Congress); Yaliwal: Mallikarjungouda Basanagouda Patil (Independent); B. Aralikatti: Basavva Siddaramanagouda Patil (BJP); Koliwada: Savitri Basavaraj Bhagavati (Congress); Mishrikoti: Mala Irappa Gokul (Janata Dal-S); Devikoppa: Shanappagouda Ramanagouda Patil (Congress); Galagi: Shiavalingappa Mallappa Chikkannavar (Congress).
