Carols bring cheer to patients

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Music was in therapeutic mode at the Madras Medical Mission as several visiting choirs roused the spirits of the inpatients there earlier this week with Christmas carols.

The choirs were from St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Broadway, St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church, Anna Nagar, Chariots, the all-African Choir from Pune and MMM's own group.

Fulgence Kazaura, Special Economic Advisor to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Mr. Kazaura, who is also Chancellor of the Dar-es-Salaam University, promised increased cooperation between Tanzania and India in the areas of health, information technology and human resources development.

V.J. Philip, principal of Madras Christian College, read out the Christmas message.
