For lensman Haksar, more accolades

CHENNAI:
Chennai-based lensman Sharad Haksar has won the just announced 2005 PDN PIX `Digital Imaging Awards'.
Hosted by Photo District News of New York, PDN PIX is a prestigious honour in digital photography.
This year Sharad Haksar won one merit each in the `personal' and `commercial' categories. The `Wedding Band Series' won him the merit certificate in Personal Photography while the `Woodcurls' shot for Rachel's Hair Stylist got Sharad the coveted merit in the Commercial Photography category.
Commenting on the awards, Mr. Haksar said, "PDN is a tough nut to crack. I know from personal experience that it is difficult to make the grade at PDN. So, I am glad I won two merits. The `wedding series' is close to my heart as it has an old world charm.
The `woodcurls' shot had won a nomination earlier at the New York Festivals, so I kind of expected it to win."
