Charge-sheet against 3 CISF personnel

BANGALORE: The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a charge-sheet against a head constable and two constables of the Central Industrial Security Force in connection with "missing currency case". The charge-sheet was filed before the 32nd Additional City Civil and Sessions Court. CISF personnel Ramappa, Sabulal and Boregowda were charged under Sections 120 B and 381 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Let mining continue: chamber

MANGALORE: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has urged the Government to take steps to enable Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited to continue mining in Kudremukh. It has written to Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister for Steel.

Coding contest winners

MYSORE: The results of "Code Zion", a coding contest conducted by Software Paradigms India (SPI) for students and professionals on December 17 in Mysore have been announced.

According to a press statement, Priya M.N. from SJCE college, Mysore, and Parvathi M. from Vidya Vikas Institute for Engineering and Technology (VVIET), Mysore were declared the winner and runner-up respectively in the student category. — Staff Correspondent

Task force holds meet

Belgaum: Senior Professor of English language N. Krishnaswamy has lamented lack of knowledge of the language among the majority of the people in the country. He was inaugurating a two-day special meeting of the Belgaum District Task Force convened to discuss on "Developmental intervention-effective teaching, methodology, strategies" for the degree colleges at Central Hall of KLE Society's Lingaraj College in the city on Tuesday.

College Principal S.B. Charantimath presided over the inaugural function.

Body found

MANGALORE: The body of a man from Chennai was found near the Hampankatta railway station on Monday.

The victim is aged about 60 years. Based on some documents found on his person, police identified the victim as Jagannathan of Ashok Nagar, Chennai. His father's name is said to be Aianaar. The victim is wheatish in complexion with a bald forehead.
