One-day seminar on jatropha

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Jatropha is proving to be a promising bio fuel and could emerge as a major alternative to diesel, and thus reduce our dependence on oil imports and save the precious foreign exchange.

ITCOT is organising a one-day seminar on Jatropha at Chennai on December 31 (at Hotel GRT Grand). The seminar will cover nursery development, processing and commercialisation, buy-back arrangement, economics of cultivation and the government incentives for the product. Experts from research institutions and ITCOT and the buy back organisation are expected to address the delegates, says ITCOT vice-president, V. Sridharan.

Candidates can register, sending the delegate fee of Rs.3,950 along with their address. The fee is payable by DD/Cheque drawn in favour of ITCOT payable at Chennai. For details, contact Mr. Sridharan at 28292557, 28293363, 28295484, 28290324, 98409 28290, or 24839317 (after office hours).
