Kingfisher to keep standby aircraft

Bangalore: Kingfisher Airlines on Tuesday announced that it has stationed one aircraft each at New Delhi and Mumbai airports as standby aircraft, ready to be used to deal with the fog situation in Delhi. These aircraft and crew will be on "fog duty" till the weather situation improves.

Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Mallya said: "The decision to deploy standby aircraft at New Delhi and Mumbai will be our sincere effort to minimise guest inconvenience due to the unavoidable fog situation. Even in circumstances beyond our control, Kingfisher Airlines will do its best meet the expectations of its guests."

All guests have been advised the check the latest flight status by calling toll-free helpline 1600 1800 101 or SMS KING to 6388 or by logging onto www.kingfisher.com.

On Wednesday, the two New Delhi-Bangalore flights (IT 201 and IT 203) will be combined into one flight leaving New Delhi at 10.45 a.m., the airlines said. The two Bangalore-Delhi flights will also be combined into one flight leaving here at 5.20 p.m.
