The inaugural function of the passenger care centre for the Kozhikode railway station caused some inconvenience to passengers on Thursday. Union Minister of State for Railways R.Velu was scheduled to inaugurate it between 3.45 p.m. and 4 p.m. From 3.30 p.m., the station was full of policemen and other onlookers. Passengers, including elder women and women carrying babies, had to press through the small space in the platform no.1 to reach the platform no. 3 to catch trains. One woman was heard saying to another woman not to go through the crowd. The Minister arrived in a special train around 4 p.m. He took at least 15 minutes to alight at the station. All this time a huge crowd gathered around the train, causing difficulty to the passengers. train.
