When old friends met in the city
RENEWING TIES: K.P. Joseph with President A.P. J. Abdul Kalam.
It was sheer joy for President A.P. J. Abdul Kalam to renew friendship with his old classmate of the Fifties when he came calling to Kochi in mid-December.
When the two students of physics of St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirapalli met in the city, it was an occasion to compare notes.
The President reminisced about the days under the late Prof. Rajam, SJ, at the college with K.P. Joseph of Kochi . They studied together in the college during 1951-52.
Mr. Joseph, who is a former consultant of Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, expressed his personal thanks to the President for the interest the latter took in the development of Kerala. He presented copies of three books authored by him to the President.
