Celebrating the arrival of New Year
The New Year celebrations in the city are going on at various venues. And, the city has been decked up with illuminations all over. The different venues in the city are bustling with music and dance programmes as part of the New Year celebrations. The `Vasantholsavam,' organised by the District Tourism Promotion Council, District Administration and the Tourism Department, featured an array of top-notch artistes at the Durbar Hall grounds.
The performances started off with the veteran Kathakali player Kalamandalam Ramankutty Nair. Saxophone concert by Kadri Gopalnath, Kathak performance by Saswathi Sen and party and gazal by Hariharan were already performed. On Thursday, actor Shobhana will perform and the events will draw to a close with a concert by the playback singer P. Jayachandran.
