Excitement in the air
The radio, as a medium of information and entertainment, has never been out of fashion. It is gaining much more significance than ever. The FM is the new rage. After the metros, it is set to make waves in the next generation metros such as Kochi. With the opening up of the skies for the private FM broadcasters, a host of players are vying for a pie in the sky.
Prominent Malayalam media houses are in the fray for the FM slot. With the licences to be issued in a few months, there is visible excitement in the air.
The competition will be with the local AIR station, which has not yet been able to air a 24-hour fare to a discerning audience. One thing is certain, whichever group gets the licence, the customer is bound to be the gainer.
